Getting A Date

By Theodore Mallingald

Contrary to what most people think, getting a date is easy. It doesn't require magical skills: it's about doing the basics right. Of course, there are a few things to keep in mind, things that can really help you. Confidence is perhaps the most important thing.

Here are a few things that may help you get a date:

Don't come across as needy; just be confident: I don't know of a girl who goes out with a man who comes across as an attention-seeker. Do not try and gain someone's attention. Have confidence in yourself, and most importantly, respect for yourself.

How then will they notice you? Well, that's easy: take the initiative yourself and go talk to them. You may be a little shaky but that's fine as long as you can get over the initial rustiness.

At the same time, you have to listen, and listen calmly. You can't expect to be blabbering yourself, without paying attention to what she has to say.

Have a plan in mind: While I don't think that a dialogue can be planned in advance, it's always better to have a general idea of what you want to say. Having a plan can help you get started and move along. You don't have to practice cheesy pickup lines, of course.

You also have to know when a conversation moves from the casual 'How's it going?' to something more substantial. As you get experience, these instinct feelings will get better.

Don't be afraid of rejections: You will get rejected, maybe a lot of times. That shouldn't waver your confidence though. There are times when two people aren't compatible, or when a girl simply isn't interested in you.

In cases like these, it's best to let it go and move on. Don't make it personal. Don't fret over it. Just move on.

Don't overcomplicate: It's rather simple to get a date. It's just a matter of doing some things right, having the confidence to approach a girl without sounding needy, and knowing when to take the conversation to the next level.

You don't have to complicate it. The best thing is keep the basics simple.

That's it then-that's the dating advice for men. You may also look into the online data paradigm if you are interested in that kind of a thing. Though it can help you get started without approaching someone in person, ultimately all relationships have to prosper in the real world.
